FOUNDER

Joe is the founder of Sullivan Construction, and has been crafting custom homes in Montrose, Colorado, since 1979. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Joe moved to Montrose at the age of 21, drawn by the area's natural beauty and vibrant community. He quickly began building homes, establishing a reputation for quality craftsmanship and dedication to his clients.

Known for his calm demeanor and sharp sense of humor, Joe brings a steady hand and a positive spirit to every project. Over the decades, his expertise and commitment to excellence have been the foundation of Sullivan Construction’s success and legacy.

When he’s not at the job site or sharing his wisdom with the team, Joe enjoys traveling with his camper and playing golf—a pastime he approaches with the same precision and enthusiasm he brings to building homes.

LICENSED ARCHITECT

Tyrel is a proud Montrose native with a passion for design and construction. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado and a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. He started his professional career at SHKS Architects in Seattle, where he gained experience working with major public institutions. Through that experience, Tyrel has developed the skills set to collaborate with a variety of shareholders, organizations, and disciplines to carry ideas from early pre-design planning to a completed project.

In 2018, Tyrel returned to Montrose to join Sullivan Construction. As a licensed architect, Tyrel leads the company's design work. He also handles cost estimating, material procurement, and other construction management tasks to keep projects on track.

Away from work, Tyrel enjoys hitting the golf course and spending time with family and friends.
